Meet Branwen
Hello, I’m Branwen, from North Wales, living in Amsterdam – a DELTA qualified and highly experienced English language teacher, trainer, and coach with over 20 years experience helping people grow in confidence, communication, and clarity.

My teaching journey has taken me from classrooms full of curious teenagers to boardrooms and universities across Amsterdam. I’ve worked with beginners finding their feet, advanced learners pushing for precision, and teachers looking to breathe new life into their practice. I bring an approach that blends high standards with humanity, drawing from a background in education, coaching, psychology, and even nursing.
Having struggled with Dutch, I understand the vulnerability and frustration that can come with learning a language. This personal experience gives me real empathy for my students – especially when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or held back by confidence issues.
That’s why I often combine language teaching with coaching. As a certified coach (ICF ACC), I’ve found that many learners don’t just need grammar tips or exam techniques – they also benefit from space to explore the emotional blocks that get in the way of progress. Whether it’s fear of making mistakes, perfectionism, or the pressure to perform, we can work through it together – often with surprising and positive results.
Outside of work, I’m often found tending to our local community garden or creating collages from paper scraps and old books. I believe in lifelong learning, humour, and finding beauty in small things – whether it’s in a sentence, a lesson, or a seedling breaking through the soil.
